Started work in November 1978. Founded within Informative Enterprise "Sloboda" (TV, Radio and Weekly paper) by Pirot Municipality Assembly.
Up to the NATO air strikes, Radio Pirot broadcast their programs from the broadcasting station on Crni Vrh hill over a transmitter of 300 W. During the air strikes the broadcasting station together with complete infrastructure was destroyed. Programs are now broadcast from lower elevation, called Sarlah, of identical power, but 40% reduced reach.
Radio Pirot has 13 hours of programs daily and includes informative-political, musical, cultural, entertaining, sports, and popular scientific educational contents.
On working days, the morning programs - brief news from the country and from abroad and local news reviews are broadcast, the noon issue service-magazine with guests in the studio, then comes central daily informative, musical ones like top-lists and regular commercials.
Weekend program comprises more informative-political contents from production of B2-92, sports programs and entertaining musical.
