Started work on 24th May 1993, by broadcasting its program within the system of town cable TV network. From 31st December 1995 TV Pozega signal had been present in ether until March 11th 2000 when Federal Ministry of
Communications forbade its work. In the Ministry's written decision immediate work discontinuation was ordered as TV Pozega neither had a work permit nor did pay for usage of radio frequency/TV channel.
n March 1998 TV Pozega (among others) applied for TV work permit submitting all necessary documents, but has received no answer from the Ministry. In the meantime, invoices were coming for temporarily used radio frequencies and TV channel. TV Pozega was regularly effecting payments of the invoices.
Directly after TV Pozega work was forbidden, on March 11th several thousands of Pozega citizens gathered protesting against such Ministry decision and driving inspectors away. Federal minister of communications, Ivan Markovic, unjustly accused the people for beating one of their inspectors to death. This lie was on the state mediae for days, but not a word about the father of one of TV film editors who died of excitement in front of TV Pozega house.
Though the first victim of free mediae defense had fallen in Pozega, it did not prevent 20 policemen to break into premises where the transmitter was placed and take away the equipment of TV Pozega at dawn of 12th March 2000.
In spite of all, TV Pozega has not stopped broadcasting 12 hours of program daily, not even for a moment.
This TV station is a part of Public Informative Enterprise RTV Pozega, comprising a radio station also.
